Fun Facts about Burger Time

Burger Time is a 1982 Japanese arcade game created by Data East Corporation for its DECO Cassette System. According to WikiPedia the object of the game is to complete a number of hamburgers while avoiding enemy foods. While making burgers, the player must avoid the antagonists, three types of enemies: Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Pickle, and Mr. Egg. Enemies can be dodged, stunned, crushed with a falling ingredient, or dropped by luring them onto an ingredient and then causing it to fall. Burger Time received a Certificate of Merit in the category of "1984 Videogame of the Year (Less than 16K ROM)" at the 5th annual Arkie Awards. The Deseret News called BurgerTime "one of the real surprises of 1983 for the Intellivision", and gave the ColecoVision version three and one half stars. In 1984, Billy Mitchell achieved a record high score of 7,881,050. It was beaten on September 5, 2005 by Bryan L. Wagner of Turbotville, Pennsylvania with a score of 8,601,300 and improved to exactly 9,000,000 on June 2, 2006.

Burger Time is also chain of 9 fast food restaurants

Burger Time is a regional chain of nine fast food restaurants. It was founded in Fargo, North Dakota, in 1987. The company is now headquartered in West Fargo, North Dakota. Burger Time has locations in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Burger Time primarily operates restaurants which offer only drive through or walk up service. Most restaurants offer two drive through lanes (one on each side, so the left side is typically used by vehicles with someone sitting in the front seat). There is typically an outdoor seating area available, as well as extra parking for those who wish to eat in their vehicles. Burger Time uses the slogans "It's Burgertime!", and "More good food for the money". Their "Bigger Burger" is advertised as being larger than that of their competitors, while being sold at a less expensive price. Keeps me wondering if they just loved this classic Burger Time game so much that they named the restaurant after it.
